Landline telephony

The Landline telephony category includes IP and VoIP desk phones, DECT cordless handsets, multimedia business phones and devices for group communication. It is aimed at professional practices, offices and companies that need a dependable line for making and answering calls, with brands such as Snom, Poly, Yealink, Gigaset and Konftel.

To find your way around, first check the type of network: IP phones connect over Ethernet and use the SIP protocol, often with PoE power, while DECT models give you freedom to move around. Then look at the number of lines or SIP accounts, whether there is a speakerphone, the quality of the display, Gigabit network ports and handy features such as caller ID and call waiting. For warehouses and production areas there are also cordless phones designed for industrial environments.
