Projectors

Projectors let you project images and video onto large surfaces for home cinema, meeting rooms, classrooms and presentations. The category includes DLP and 3LCD models, some with a laser light source, resolutions from WXGA and WUXGA up to 4K UHD, and short-throw versions suited to small spaces.

When choosing, first consider the brightness in ANSI lumens: higher values, such as 3,000 or more, are needed in rooms with light, while darkened rooms need less. Then look at the resolution (WXGA for presentations, Full HD or 4K for films), the contrast ratio, the throw distance and short-throw optics, 3D support if it interests you and connections such as HDMI and VGA. Also check the fan noise and whether built-in speakers are included. Brands include BenQ, Epson, Acer, Optoma, ViewSonic and Sony.
