Other small appliances

The other small appliances category gathers household appliances that do not fit the main sections: food processors and stand mixers, ice cream makers, contact grills, microwave ovens, pod coffee machines and sewing machines. They are made for people who cook often, who enjoy home-made recipes and who want practical help with household tasks.

When choosing, consider the power in watts, the bowl or cavity capacity in litres, the footprint and how easy the appliance is to clean. A food processor is more useful with a large bowl and kneading attachments, a microwave oven is judged on capacity and whether it has a grill, and for an ice cream maker the quantity made per cycle counts. Also check the noise level and the worktop space you will need. Brands include Bosch, Kenwood, Dyson, Tefal, Rommelsbacher and Cuckoo.
