Fixed air conditioners

Fixed air conditioners are split systems with a wall-mounted indoor unit and an outdoor unit, designed to cool and, on heat pump models, heat bedrooms, living rooms, offices and shops. In this category you will find single-split air conditioners and complete kits with indoor and outdoor units, in the most common capacities, from 9,000 to 24,000 BTU.

To pick the right model, start from the BTU rating based on the floor area and how much sun the room gets, then compare the energy class: inverter models adjust their output to keep consumption down. Check the refrigerant gas (many models use R32), whether Wi-Fi is built in for smartphone control, and the noise level of the indoor unit. Brands available include Daikin, Samsung, Hisense, Candy, Zephir and Diloc.
